BanyanDNA - I missed this... did you?

Have you ever found that sometimes you miss a vital piece of information that would make your research a whole lot easier.

For me it was to do with the BanyanDNA app.

This is a fabulous app for validating and calculating how DNA matches are related to each other. I've been using it since it was launched in 2024 and it's my go to tool for creating trees of matches.

One of the things I've always wanted was the ability to move a branch of the family tree, from the top person in a branch and all their descendants. This is useful for when you want to add in new lines for additional DNA matches. I've always had to do this by moving one box at a time, which was tedious.

A recent BanyanDNA post on LinkedIn had me commenting a request for this feature working on the theory "if you don't ask, you don't get." Their reply was...

Mind blown. How had I missed this after using BanyanDNA for over two years?

So here's a quick video to show you what holding the ALT key down, while dragging a person will do in your trees.

I'll now be using it... will you?

Now crossing fingers for the click to grid to line up all those columns.

Thanks BanyanDNA.
